Robert Yohai, M.D., a native of New York, has always been surrounded by art and artists. His interest in aesthetics is seen not only in his meticulous surgery, but also in his skill as a nature and landscape photographer. His professional education brought him westward.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from Tufts University, Boston, Massachusetts, he completed Medical School at Northwestern University in Chicago and Residency in Diseases and Surgery of the Eye at the Mason Institute of Ophthalmology, University of Missouri, Columbia. Following his Residency, Dr. Yohai was selected for a one year Fellowship in Cosmetic and Reconstructive Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at Wright State University, (one of only 30 such Fellowship positions, nationally).

Dr. Yohai is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and serves as an Assistant Professor at the University of California at San Francisco and California Pacific Medical Center. He is the author of numerous scientific publications and serves as a reviewer of a major ophthalmology journal. Upon completion of his formal training, Dr. Yohai moved to Sonoma County in 1992 to begin a practice in Oculoplastic and General Ophthalmic Surgery. Since that time, he has performed thousands of eyelid and eye surgeries. In reflecting on the varied aspects of his practice, Dr. Yohai notes, "I feel blessed that I can use my surgical skills not only to help my patients see better, but also help them to see in their reflections more of what they feel inside."
